About ICCAD

The Indo-Canadian Cultural Association of Durham is a not–for–profit organization.

  • All Indo-Canadian Culture Association of Durham (ICCAD) programs are designed to bring people together and promote their full involvement in the civic life of Durham Region

  • To showcase culture and heritage in such a way as to build bridges between India and Canada and between other diverse cultural groups

  • For the ICCAD our social initiatives are perhaps paramount for we are dedicated to tolerance and understanding among all the people of Durham Region. We seek to ensure that all citizens have a real stake in a sustained healthy community.

  • The ICCAD take ownership and pride in enhancing the Pickering's green spaces. On the environmental front the ICCAD takes part in the Community Garden, and Adopt a Park program and encourages others to join in the stewardship effort believing as it does that a safe, clean, natural and green Pickering is an important marker of a community in which residents can take pride.

  • Economically the ICCAD recognizes that without a solid financial base sustaining community initiatives is a difficult task. Because much of our membership maintains ties with the world’s largest democracy we take every opportunity to promote trade and commercial relationships between Pickering and India. Our membership strives to support local business and to encourage investment in Pickering.
